Sand Castles

Here's a photo of the sand castle that I made with my own fair hands for a sequence with Guy and Caroline in a park.

It's all solid real sand!

No trickery involved.

Wow, you did that and the matchstick Jesus. Feeling slightly jealous of your job :)

I'm very lucky...I get to do loads of fun things, but then I am a very hands-on designer.

I created a proper sculpture for Series 2, but can't say much more than that at the mo...keep an eye out, and I'll post pictures once it's aired.

Ooh, this is all so exciting.
I can just imagine that scene - guy will probably chase away some children and make them cry, then spend an hour building this thing to impress caroline while she watches him, getting bored to death. fantastic.

...but why did you need a hammer to build it?

Very observant!...Hadn't noticed that.

It would have been for the wooden surround to retain the sand.

the Swiss flag...
hadn't seen it before. oh god...:)
Guy would do just about anything, wouldn't he? also the flag by the number plate of his car...

did it take you ages to make that? ("it took me ages, that did!")

It took about 3-4 hours plus constant security to make sure nobody tried to trample it before the crew arrived!
